SB_Scrambler
The visualizer Java Applet monitors traffic through the Scrambler. The line on top blips
to represent different types of data. In the centre you can see the messages. You can send
messages from the browser by entering numbers or text in the input box.
(The Visualizer is no longer running.)
The messages include the following information: the user name, a one word identifier
or description of the data, and a piece of data. For example: sCrambled
tock 1064598036 represents the server (user
name sCrambled), tock for time,
and 1064598036 is the data (a timestamp).
Artists connect to the server at scrambled.aaeol.ca:8200.
You can connect using a simple telnet client and then type GET
ALL. The Scrambled server will then broadcast its messages to your telnet window.
To put data into the system, you connect
and send PUT (username) (password).
Once you are logged onto the system you can send data as a pair of symbols:
(identifier) (data). Artists who are interested in
joining the network can contact us at media@front.bc.ca.
Two of the user names that you will see in the applet
include: sCrambled (the server itself which sends out
time and connection information if no other data is flowing), and
web (any messages that are sent from a browser
using this applet).
